This blog is designed to help math students from high school to college to get their A for math!
My philosophy to learning Math:
1) Interest
I have always found math very challenging yet interesting. This is especially so when I'm able to solve a though math question which I had been working on for a long time. The sense of achievement is the most rewarding factor that kept me doing well in Math.
2) Tenacity
I always tell myself "I can do it!" Whenever I'm stuck with a question, i will attack it from all angles, applying differentiation or trigonometry and etc in all possible ways until I get it solved. If other students in the class can solve the question, so can I.
So much for setting the right attitude towards learning math here are some tips to take note
1)Basics
Grasping fundamental concept is crucial. Many cannot do well for math because they do not have the right basics. Like my Dad, who is a Professional Engineer, always say "When whatever fails, fall back on your basics." Why memorize the formula if you don't know how to derive it! It's through deriving the formula by yourself which creates the interaction between the formula and you. This interaction will help you understand the particular topic better apply the formula correctly!
2) Practice
I can't emphasize how important practicing is. Ever heard of the phrase "Practice makes perfect". The idea of not practicing is a short cut which you should never think about taking. For me, it's through the rigor of practicing which allows me to find short cuts to minimize the number of steps required to get my answer. Only with these short cuts, you will then be able to find more time to check your papers after exams. I usually have half the exam duration to check my papers. So you can too!
This blog is my baby blog which I hope could be useful to students who are struggling with math.
